2009 TEXTILE EXHIBIT OPENS IN TRAPPE
Visitors are welcome and encouraged to explore both the Dewees Museum and the Henry Muhlenberg House on Sunday afternoons from 1:30 to 4:00 P.M., now throughSeptember 13th (closed July 5th and September 6th). Rev. Bob Meschke, President of the Society, noted, “While we do provide tours throughout the year, Summer is that special time when we can welcome visitors to share our rich historic legacy.”

Of special interest is our 2009 Textile Exhibit at the Dewees Museum. Ruth Daller of the Museum Committee coordinated the preparation of this special Summer Exhibit showcasing the Society’s large textile collection consisting of coverlets, quilts, and fabrics of various types. Said Daller, “It is such a pleasure to have the opportunity to display these wonderful, mostly 18th century pieces, that have been donated over the years.” Don’t let the Summer pass without a Sunday visit to this exhibit. You may also call to arrange a group tour (610-489-7560) for your club or organization.

The Dewees Museum is located at 301 W.Main Street at the intersection of Route 113 in Trappe. This historic site reflects the history of the area with collections from the 18th century through current times. The Henry Muhlenberg House located at 201 W Main Street, which has been restored to the period of 1776 when the Muhlenbergs resided there, reflects the lifestyle of this family. Donations appreciated.
