Historic Markers for 18th and 19th Century Houses

In the early days of The Historical Society, plaques were available to mark early houses of the area. The Museum Committee has developed a process to again make plaques available for marking houses, churches, schools, and other structures if the date of 1900 and earlier can be substantiated—1900 is considered the last year of the 19th Century.

The design and manufacture of the plaques was administered by The Rev. Robert Meschke, and produced by Warren Mangan of W. D. Pattern Co., Trappe. Cast in aluminum, they bear the inscription Historic Plaque "Historic Site, Historical Society of Trappe, Collegeville, Perkiomen Valley," centered in the form of a shield.
